Great Wall Motor’s (GWM) Tank brand officially launched the Tank 300 Polar Edition today, with pricing starting from 226,800 yuan (32,400 USD) to 244,800 yuan (35,000 USD). The edition, which includes two models, was first unveiled at the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show where pre-orders commenced. Globally limited to 300 units, the Tank 300 Polar Edition was designed for professionals working in extreme environments and off-road enthusiasts.
The Tank 300 Polar Edition distinguishes itself with a “Polar Orange” exterior finish, complemented by “Polar Edge” body decals and a “Polar Glory” identity badge on the front fender. Inside, there is the “Polar Imprint” hot-stamped on the seat headrests.
The Tank 300 Polar Edition offers three optional packages:
- Winter guardian package: Includes heated front windshield and heated nozzles, preventing windshield icing and fogging in temperatures below -22°F (-30℃) to ensure clear visibility.
- Snow conqueror package: Equips the vehicle with all-terrain (AT) tyres, enhancing grip on slippery surfaces like snow and ice.
- Escape escort package: Features a wireless remote winch with a 9,500-pound capacity and a 2.5-ton towing qualification, providing self-rescue and team-rescue capabilities in challenging terrains.
As a compact, hard-core off-road SUV, the Tank 300 Polar Edition measures 4,760mm in length, 1,930mm in width, and 1,903mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750mm. Built on a non-load-bearing (body-on-frame) chassis, it features a 33-degree approach angle and a 34-degree departure angle.

The interior of the Tank 300 Polar Edition mirrors the design of existing models, featuring a 14.6-inch floating central control screen paired with a 12.3-inch embedded full LCD instrument cluster. A dual-spoke multi-function steering wheel and an electronic column shifter complete the modern cockpit. The cabin is powered by the Coffee OS system, running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, offering 4G network connectivity, four-zone voice recognition, in-car KTV, and mobile app remote control functionalities.

Under the hood, the Tank 300 Polar Edition retains the powertrain options from the current model line-up:
- A 2.0T gasoline engine delivering a maximum power of 167 kW (224 hp) and a peak torque of 387 N·m.
- A 2.4T diesel engine producing a maximum power of 137 kW (184 hp) and a peak torque of 490 N·m.
Both engines are mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. For off-road performance, the vehicle is equipped with front and rear differential locks, a part-time four-wheel drive system, and the Tank Turn function, which enhances manoeuvrability in tight off-road situations.
