Xiaomi plans to launch four new models in early 2026, which will be a revised version of the SU7, a 7-seater EREV SUV, an executive version of the SU7, and a 5-seater EREV SUV. The former two are tentatively planned for release in the first half of 2026, while the latter two are planned for second half to the end of 2026, according to Chinese news outlet 36kr.

In October of this year, Lei Jun (CEO of Xiaomi) and a group of Xiaomi executives traveled to Xinjiang, China, to conduct vehicle testing, during which numerous spy photos of a camouflaged full-size SUV with a single rear exhaust outlet were leaked. This is likely the 7-seater EREV SUV, internally codenamed “Kunlun”.
Positioned similarly to the Li Auto L9 and Leapmotor D19, it is a mid-to-large SUV designed for family-oriented consumers and will utilize a battery with over 70 kWh of capacity, providing a pure electric driving range of 400 to 500 km.

As for the Xiaomi SU7 executive version, it is positioned as a long-wheelbase sedan. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that “the wheelbase has been significantly extended, and there are many comfort-oriented changes in the rear passenger compartment.”
In fact, Xiaomi’s planning for EREV technology has been underway for some time. Since 2023, Xiaomi has been signaling its commitment to EREV through recruitment, and currently, its official website lists over 20 positions related to this area.
2025 is considered by the industry as the inaugural year of competition in the “large-battery hybrid” market. Multiple EREV SUVs entered the Chinese automotive market this year, including the IM LS6 and Fulwin T11. Brands like Xpeng are also increasing their investment in this segment such as launching the Xpeng G7 and P7+ EREV variants in 2026. Several new hybrid vehicles equipped with 80 kWh class batteries are already in the planning stages, and Xiaomi’s EREV SUVs are among them.
