Huawei’s updated Maextro S800 luxury sedan features upgraded range extender with three motors

Huawei’s updated Maextro S800 EREV sedan under HIMA will continue to be available in dual and triple electric motors, with the main upgrade being increasing the range-extender power output from 125 kW to 127 kW (engine model M8100PHD).

The Maextro S800 is a luxury sedan jointly developed by Huawei and JAC under HIMA, launched in May 2025, with a price range of 708,000 to 1,018,000 yuan (102,000 to 146,700 USD), available in BEV and EREV variants.

Updated Maextro S800 EREV

Its dimensions are 5480/2000/1536 mm (l/w/h), with a wheelbase of 3370 mm, which is 6 mm shorter in terms of height than the current model on the market. It runs on 255/45 R20, 265/45 R20, and 265/40 R21 tires.

Both the dual and triple electric motor versions have a gross vehicle weight of 3270 kg, and their curb weights are:

  • 2700, 2770, 2800, 2810, and 2830 kg
  • 2804, 2822, 2851, 2865, and 2870 kg

The 127 kW (170 hp) range extender and 63.262 kWh (a decrease from 65 kWh) battery pack are standard across both versions, providing pure electric range of 271 & 258 km and 315 & 311 & 302 km (assuming under WLTC conditions), respectively.

The dual electric motor version continues to boast 160 kW (215 hp) in the front and 230 kW (308 hp) in the rear. The corresponding fuel consumption is 0.15L/100km for the curb weight of 2700 kg, 0.10L/100km for curb weights 2770 kg & 2810 kg, and 0.17L/100km for curb weights 2800 kg & 2830 kg.

For the triple electric motor version, the front continues to output 160 kW (215 hp), rear left outputs 237.5 kW (318 hp), and rear right outputs 237.5 kW (318 hp). The corresponding fuel consumption is 0.18L/100km for curb weight of 2804 kg, 2822 kg, & 2865 kg, and 0.23L/100km for curb weight 2,851 kg & 2,870 kg.
