Aion RT Super launches: 99-second swap, CATL battery rental, 12,900 USD entry price
GAC Aion has officially launched the battery-swappable variant of its Aion RT sedan, named Aion RT Super, featuring CATL’s chocolate-swap battery technology, with a battery rental purchase price of 88,800 yuan (12,900 USD).
The new model, which debuted on April 8, is the only version in the Aion RT lineup to support 99-second battery swapping. The battery subscription fee is 399 yuan (58 USD) per month.
Dimensions and design
The Aion RT Super measures 4,865mm in length, 1,875mm in width, and 1,520mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,775mm. The exterior continues the family design language, featuring LED headlights, LED through-type taillights, and electric hidden door handles.

Interior and technology
Inside, the vehicle comes with leather seats and standard equipment, including electric adjustment, heating, and ventilation for both front driver and passenger seats. Additional features include dual-zone constant temperature heat pump air conditioning, an ultra-fibre leather steering wheel, an 8.88-inch full LCD instrument cluster paired with a 14.6-inch central control display, and the built-in ADiGO 6.0 infotainment system.

Enhanced features
Compared to the entry-level version Aion RT, this Aion RT Super adds a panoramic sunroof, electric tailgate, power-folding and heated exterior mirrors, sentry mode, wireless charging, ACC adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and intelligent high beam assist.

Powertrain and battery
The key distinction between the swap version and existing models lies in the battery and energy replenishment system. It is equipped with CATL’s chocolate swap battery with a capacity of 54kWh, capable of charging from 30% to 80% in 26 minutes, or being swapped in 99 seconds. The vehicle offers a range of 505km. The motor is rated at 150 kW (201 hp), enabling a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 7.5 seconds.
Warranty and infrastructure plans
Regarding warranty coverage, the manufacturer offers a lifetime warranty for the three electric systems, excluding the battery, while battery after-sales service is covered by CATL. This warranty applies to the first owner of non-commercial vehicles, with an annual mileage limit of 30,000km.
By 2026, the chocolate battery swap network plans to establish over 3,000 swap stations across more than 140 cities. The long-term target is 30,000 stations, with plans to open the network to franchise partners.
