BYD’s Denza Z9 EV with 1,328 horsepower appeared in regulatory filings
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China today released its latest catalogue of road motor vehicle manufacturers and products, which includes the Denza Z9 pure-electric sedan. This vehicle was unveiled by BYD in February along with the Z9 GT, which has already been launched.
The newly filed Denza Z9 sedan features the following dimensions:

The vehicle has a curb weight of 2,397 kg, 2,438 kg, or 2,588 kg depending on the configuration. It offers a five-seat layout.


Performance and powertrain
The Denza Z9 offers two top speed options: 250 km/h and 270 km/h.
For the powertrain, the standard version is equipped with a single TZ226QYD motor produced by Zhengzhou BYD Automobile Co., Ltd., featuring a peak power of 370 kW (496 hp).

A high-performance variant is available with a three-motor setup (front-rear-rear configuration), consisting of TZ226QYA and two TZ226XYB motors. This version delivers a combined output of 990 kW (1,328 hp) with power ratings of 270 kW (362 hp), 310 kW (416 hp), and 310 kW (416 hp), respectively.
Noteably, the tri-motor version Z9 GT delivers a combined output of 950 kW (1,274 hp) with power ratings of 230 kW (308 hp), 310 kW (416 hp), and 310 kW (416 hp), respectively.

Battery and features
The vehicle is equipped with BYD’s lithium iron phosphate battery. The battery cells are manufactured by Hefei BYD Industrial Co., Ltd., while the battery pack assembly is produced by Shanwei FinDreams Battery Co., Ltd.
Standard features include a panoramic sunroof, with optional extras such as an electric rear spoiler, various exterior mirror designs, different door handle styles, wheel rim options, and colored brake callipers.
