Background

The Seal 08 was officially unveiled at BYD’s Blade Battery 2.0 event on March 5. Built on an 800V high-voltage platform, the flagship sedan incorporates BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, expected to deliver a pure electric range exceeding 1000km. The vehicle also features megawatt-level flash charging technology capable of replenishing 400km of range in 5 minutes.

Advanced chassis technologies include rear-wheel steering for enhanced manoeuvrability and the DiSus-A intelligent body control system. A LiDAR unit mounted on the roof supports BYD’s God’s Eye B (DiPilot 300) intelligent driving system.

The Seal 08 is part of BYD’s “Ocean 8 Series Dual Flagship” lineup, which also includes the Sealion 08 SUV. Both models were announced in December 2025. The Seal 08 was first unveiled at BYD’s Blade Battery 2.0 event and has now been declared, while the Sealion 08 remains mysterious under camouflage.
