CATL and the Turkish automotive brand Togg have officially entered into a mass-production partnership for the CATL Bedrock skateboard chassis. Under the agreement, Togg and CAIT (Contemporary Amperex Intelligent Technology), a subsidiary of CATL, will co-develop three models based on Togg’s new B-segment platform. The first model is slated for mass production in 2027.

This collaboration marks the first time a Chinese integrated intelligent chassis has been supplied to the overseas passenger vehicle market.

The signing ceremony was attended by Togg CEO Gürcan Karakaş, CATL Co-President of Marketing Tan Libin, and CAIT Managing Director Yang Hanbing. Togg Chairman Fuat Tosyalı, CATL Chairman and CEO Robin Zeng, and CATL Executive President of Overseas Business Li Xiaoning witnessed the event.

According to CATL, the Bedrock chassis focuses on three core innovations: structural safety, cell safety, and high-voltage safety. As Turkey’s leading domestic EV brand, Togg will lead the user experience design, vehicle requirement definition, and digital architecture. CATL’s Bedrock chassis will provide the underlying hardware foundation, allowing Togg to focus resources on digital innovation and user-centric features.

The CIIC (CATL Integrated Intelligent Chassis) system integrates the following components in advance:

  • Battery and electric drivetrain
  • Suspension and braking systems
  • Cell-to-Chassis (CTC) technology

By decoupling the upper and lower car bodies, the system allows for parallel development, shortening the time-to-market for new vehicles.

CATL’s CIIC platform has previously demonstrated high-performance capabilities during testing in China, achieving:

  • A range of 1,000 km (CLTC cycle).
  • Energy consumption of 10.5 kWh per 100 km.
  • Fast charging capable of adding 300 km of range in 5 minutes.
  • A battery pack efficiency of 75%.

CAIT has been developing skateboard chassis for several years now, but the collaboration on this platform doesn’t seem to be going smoothly. The Neta S Wagon, produced by Neta, was the first production vehicle to adopt the CIIC system in 2024. However, Neta went bankrupt in 2025.

CATL has two subsidiaries that produce skateboard chassis: CAIT for passenger vehicles and Synland for commercial vehicles. At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, robotaxi maker Pony.ai launched an L4 autonomous light truck, developed based on Synland’s light truck skateboard chassis “Kun Speed”.

CATL power battery market share.

According to CABIA data, CATL ranks first in the power battery market this year with a 48.3% market share, followed by BYD in second place with 17%, and CALB in third with 5.9%. According to CPCA, CATL’s share surpassed 50% already in Q1 2026.
