New spy shots of the facelifted Chery E5, new front looks a lot better compared to the current car. Bigger grill is the fashion in China today. The facelifted E5 will hit the China car market later this year, powered by a new 1.6 DVVT engine with 126hp and 160nm. Debut is expected at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November.

Current Chery E5. Price starts at 59.800 yuan and ends at 81.800 yuan. Powered by a 1.6 with 109hp and 140nm, this engine will be killed and replaced with the new 1.6 DVVT.

Dash improved a bit, still a lotta cheap plastic, but what can you expect for such a little money? Customers certainly don’t expect more making the current E5 a favorite among budget constrained first car buyers for whom this basic automobile does just fine.
