Volkswagen Beetle hits the China auto market
The Volkswagen Beetle has been launched on the Chinese auto market, price starts at 198.800 yuan and ends at 299.800 yuan, young female buyers who take their sugar daddy to the showroom will get a box of tissues for free.
Price puts the Beetle neatly under the Mini which starts at 225.000 and ends at 359.000 yuan. The old Volkswagen New Beetle was launched in China in 2008 and was a sales success, competing fiercely with Mini. Competition is now more divers with the Alfa Romeo MiTo, Audi A1, and Fiat 500 all fighting for a bit of the pie. The China-bound Beetle will be powered by a 1.2 TFSI or a 1.4 TFSI.
