Spy Shots: new Hyundai entry-level SUV testing in China

Hyundai is working on a new entry-level SUV for the China car market, it will be made in China by the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture, production will start sometime in 2014.

Design of the new SUV will be inspired by the lines of the 2011 Hyundai Curb concept. It will be based on the platform of the Kia Soul, which is made in China by the Dongfeng-Yueda-Kia joint venture. The Soul is priced from 103.800 yuan to 127.800 yuan, and powered by a 125hp 1.6. The new Hyundai SUV will be slightly more expensive and use the same engine.The new SUV will be the fourth SUV Hyundai makes in China, the others are: the first-gen Tucson, the ix35 and the SantaFe.
