The China-made Peugeot 2008 SUV has arrived at the 2013 Guangzhou Auto Show where it will debut tomorrow, but we got it one day earlier. A completely uncovered example was seen on the Peugeot booth-under-construction in the exhibition hall, sadly painted in that boring brown that seems to become a trend here in China.

The 2008 is made in China by the Dongfeng-PSA joint venture. It will be launched on the China car market in April next year. The Peugeot 2008 will be powered by a rather old 1.6 with 114hp and 150nm, mated to a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic. Price of the 2008 with the 1.6 is expected to start around 100.000 yuan. In late 2014 the new 1.2 turbo will join the line-up, price will start around 125.000 yuan. The Peugeot 2008 will compete head-to-head with fine cars like the Ford Kuga and the Nissan Qashqai.

Wheels seem very small in huge arches, Chinese style… Rear lights very coolio, but how much better would it all look in white or blue?
