The very first photos of the all new Chery Tiggo 5 SUV for China, the successor of the current Tiggo 5. It is the first car with Chery’s new design language and it certainly looks daring, much more exciting than the current Tiggo 5. The new 5 will debut on the Shanghai Auto Show and launch on the Chinese car market later this year.
The current car. Price starts at 89.900 yuan and ends at 150.900 yuan. Engine: 152hp 1.5 turbo. The old 139hp 2.0 is no longer available.
The new Tiggo 5 will continue to use this very same engine, but it is rated at only 148hp, four horses less than the outgoing car. Price range will be about the same.
Size: 4338/1830/1645, and wheelbase is 2630.
Lights look great. Chery badge under the shiny strip. Interesting choice, as badges are mostly above said strip.
Another trim level with a duel tone paint job. Note the extremely short rear overhang.
It is great to see that Chery is finally moving to more daring and exciting design. May there be more. But the Tiggo 5 could use a newer engine.
