Honda Motor Company, announced Monday it sold 41,000 vehicles in February in China, down 6.5 percent year-on-year. Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co., Ltd, the company’s joint venture (JV) in China also saw a plunge in sales volume and sold 23,000 vehicles last month, down 19.6 percent.
However, Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co., Ltd., another JV of the company experienced a jump in sales volume to 18,000 units, up 18 percent.
Although Honda experienced a downfall last month, its sales volume still sees a year-on-year increase of 4.4 percent, to 10,700 units in the first two months of 2011.
Other Japanese brands such as Toyota and Mazda also saw a decrease in sales volume in February.
