The North American Passat, or NMS, will be made in China by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture and sold as ‘New Passat’ to make a clear difference between the old B5 Passat Lingyu that is made by the same joint venture.

The European Passat B7 will be made by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture and sold as ‘Magotan’, just like the B6 Passat. Three Passats for China! Both the New Passat and B7 Magotan will debut at the Shanghai Auto Show. Price of the New Passat will start around 210.000 yuan and end around 310.000 yuan.
