The new Chery Eastar/Oriental Sun debuted at the Shanghai Auto Show. About the two names: in Chinese it is called DongfangZhizi, meaning ‘Oriental Sun’. Chery however uses a different translation: Eastar. The new car has ‘Eastar’ on the back so from now on I will call it like that. The new Eastar will get a brother at Chery’s Cowin-brand, the Cowin E6 which will debut at a later show. Engines: 1.8 and 2.0 mated to a CVT. Size: 4866x1840x1500, wheelbase is 2768.
