A somehow bizarre new stretched car. China is famous for its long-wheelbase versions from cars like the BMW5, the Mecedes-Benz E, Audi A4 and A6, Volvo S80 and various others. Vokswagen though is pushing it with a stretched Volkswagen Polo sedan.

Its wheelbase is 80mm longer than the current Polo hatchback and 90mm longer than the old Polo sedan. The Polo is made in China by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture. There will be no ‘normal’ sedan, Volkswagen will only offer this long wheelbase version. The Polo sedan will debut early next year, likely at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show.
