The new Audi Q3 SUV will be made in China from late 2012 or early 2013. For those who can’t wait Audi will offer the Q3 as an import in the meantime, the China-bound Q3 will debut at the April 2012 Beijing Auto Show and will hit the China car market soon thereafter.
The Q3 will come with only one engine; the 2.0 TFSI with 170hp and 280nm. Competition: BMW X1. The X1 is currently imported into China but will be made locally, likely from 2013 as well. The Audi Q3 will be made in China by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture, in the main factory in Changchun in Jilin province.
