Chengdu Auto Show: Chevrolet Malibu 1.6 Turbo debuts in China

The Chevrolet Malibu 1.6 Turbo has been launched on the China auto market, priced at 209.900 yuan and that is more expensive that the 190.000 that was expected. The 1.6 turbo comes with 180hp and 235nm, mated to a 6-speed manual.

The 1.6 turbo will be positioned between the current 2.0 and 2.4. The Chevrolet Malibu is made in China by the Shanghai-GM joint venture. The market for small-displacement turbocharged engines is growing fast in China, thanks to the rising fuel prices. Bigger ain’t automatically better anymore…
