The new Citroen C4L debuted on the Guangzhou Auto Show, it will be launched on the Chinese car market in December. The Citroen C4L will be made in China by the Dongfeng-PSA joint venture, it will be positioned between the Citroen c-Triomphe and the Citroen C5.
Price will range from 120.000 to 180.000 yuan. Engines: 117hp 1.6, 163hp 1.6 turbo and further in the future a 1.8 which will price-wise fit between the 1.6 and 1.6 turbo. The 1.6 turbo will be mated to a six-speed automatic, the 1.6 will be available with the six-speed automatic or with a 5-speed manual.
The Citroen C4L seems to be a fine looking car with an air of luxury that will be much appreciated by Chinese car buyers. But!, does it have enough chrome? Front is good but I don’t see that much of the shiny stuff at the back. Competition comes mostly from Volkswagen and GM with Buick and Chevrolet. The Japanese are completely dead at the moment and the Chinese still got to learn a lot…
Blue dials look high tech-ish, small screen does not.
