Hawtai is working on a new mid-sized SUV, code named A25. It is about the size of the Hyundai ix35 and will be powered by a new Hawtai-developed 1.4 turbo with 140hp and 170nm. Hawtai is also working on a new 1.2 turbo with 125hp and 150nm, but that engine will likely not be used for the A25.
The new SUV will hit the Chinese auto market sometime next year, a concept is expected to debut on the April 2013 Shanghai Auto Show. Price will start somewhere around 90.000 yuan. Design loox all right, the rear light especially are a very wild detail for Hawtai…

Nice… very nice.
Looking good.
Hawtai have been criticised for poor sales performance.
But they have been focusing all of their efforts on something far more important: developing product quality and design.
Once the product is there, the sales will follow…
Now if they had only done this sooner…
They need to design the rest of their cars like this, as this car looks streamlined and athletic, while the other cars look thick, fat, and ugly, compared to other chinese cars. If they can transfer this streamlined design to their other cars, they might be on to something.
