Brilliance-BMW vice president may switch to Beijing-Benz

Daniel Kirchert, BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd’s former senior vice-president of sales and marketing, may join Beijing Mercedes Benz Sales and Service Co Ltd, according to sources.Beijing Mercedes Benz Sales and Service is a new joint venture established by Daimler Northeast Asia Ltd and BAIC Group in December.

Kirchert, 40, who studied Chinese at Nanjing University in 1998 and 1999, can speak Chinese fluently. He joined BMW China Automotive’s Beijing office in 2005 as the director of business development of the Greater China region. He has served as BMW Brilliance Automotive’s senior vice-president of sales and marketing since 2007.

In early January 2013, he left BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. Other top managers are leaving too, leading to speculations about troubles at the higher managerial levels at BMW-Brilliance.
