Spy Shots: Chery A4 is Ready for the Chinese car market
The best spy shots so far of the upcoming Chery A4 sedan, formerly known as the Chery M16. The Chery A4 is a new mid-size sedan that will be launched on the Chinese car market in the first half of this year, debut is expected for the Shanghai Auto Show in April. The vehicles on these photos wear the current Chery logo, while the vehicle on the last spy shots we saw had a new Chery logo. Maybe Chery hasn’t decided on the logo yet.
Design-wise another big step forwards. Clean and modern lined and even a bit exciting up front, back still a tad too boring but good looking nevertheless. Power will come from a 1.6 with 126hp and 160nm, mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT. Chery is still working on a 1.4 turbo for the A4, but that engine won’t be available at launch. Size: 4650/1820/1480, wheelbase is 2700. Price of the Chery A4 will start around 110.000 yuan.
Old logo, new logo, no logo. Grille is different too with only one chrome bar, the red car has two.
Interior neat enough. Quality of the plastics is improving with each new Chery. Not much chrome here. Screen of reasonable size.
Lotta legroom but the seats are Chinese-short.
