The very first spy shots of what appears to be an extra sporty variant of the Volkswagen Tiguan (Tiguan R?) for the Chinese car market. The red vehicle on the photos comes with a lot of black, which is sporty, and most notable with speedy black 5-spoke alloys and a black roof rack for extra fast storage .
Volkswagen is currently working on a facelift for the China-made Tiguan, which will debut on the Shanghai Auto Show in April. The sporty car got the same front as the facelifted Tiguan, so it will likely debut in Shanghai too, alongside the new Tiguan BlueMotion. Sporty and green, there seems to be a Tiguan for all. The Volkswagen Tiguan is made in China by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture.
What will power the sporty Tiguan is yet unknown. The most powerful engine in the China-made Tiguan is the 200hp 2.0 TSI. A sporty variant so, will certainly get more than that, … right?
