Spy shots showing the Ford Tourneo Custom testing in China. The Tourneo Custom is a MPV-style people van based on the eighth generation Ford Transit commercial van. The Ford Tourneo Custom will be launched on the China car market in 2014, it will be made in China by the Jiangling-Ford joint venture.

Jiangling-Ford currently makes the fifth generation Ford Transit, called ‘Classic Transit‘, and the seventh generation Ford Transit, called ‘Transit‘. China skipped the sixth generation. Next year’s production of the Tourneo Custom makes it extremely likely that the eighth generation Transit will be made in China too, which will mean the end of the seventh. The fifth will soldier on indefinitely.
