China-made Mazda CX-5 gets a Price in China
The China-made Mazda CX-5 will be launched on the China car market on August 18. Mazda dealers have announced pre-sale prices, ranging from 169.800 yuan to 253.800 yuan. The Mazda CX-5 will be made in China by the Chang’an-Mazda joint venture.
The Mazda CX-5 is currently imported into China with a price ranging from 233.800 to 281.800 yuan. The difference is so big because of China’s high import taxes. The imported CX-5 is only available with 155hp a 2.0 petrol engine. The locally made CX-5 will be available with that same 2.0 or with a 196hp 2.5. Transmissions: 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic.
The CX-5 is the first made-in-China Mazda SUV. It won’t be alone for very long; the CX-7 will be launched on the China car market late this year.
