The 300.000 yuan price tag makes the Cadillac ATS too expensive to seriously compete with the China-made Audi A4L, BMW 3Li, Mercedes C-Class, and the upcoming Volvo S60L.

The locally-made ATS will be about 25% cheaper, giving it a much better chance on the mid-size sedan battlefield. The China-made ATS will debut on the April 2015 Shanghai Auto Show and sales will start soon after that, it will be made by the Shanghai-GM joint venture.

The imported ATS will be powered by a 204hp 2.5, a 270hp 2.0 turbo and a 318hp 3.6 liter V6. The locally-made ATS will get all these engines as well, plus a naturally aspirated 2.0 with about 170 horses which will cost around 220.000 yuan. The 2.0 is not available in the US-spec ATS.
