Patent Applied: facelift for the Roewe W5 SUV in China

Roewe has applied for patent on a facelift for the Roewe W5 SUV. The facelifted Roewe W5 is expected to debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show in late November. The facelift includes a new heavily chromed grille with a huge Roewe logo in the middle, and a slightly revised front bumper.

The current Roewe W5 was launched on the China car market in August 2011. Price starts at 151.800 yuan and ends at 298.800 yuan. The Roewe W5 is based on the last-generation Ssangyong Kyron. Engines: 160hp 1.8 turbo and a 220hp 3.2 liter six-in-line, which is based on an ancient Mercedes-Benz engine that the Germans sold to Ssangyong in the 1980’s. Both engines will continue in the facelifted Roewe W5 and price will be about the same.
