FAW-Oley hatchback launched on the China car market
The FAW-Oley hatchback has been launched on the China car market. Price starts at 66.800 yuan and ends at 81.800 yuan. The Oley hatchback debuted in April on the Shanghai Auto Show, it is based on the Oley sedan which was launched on the Chinese auto market in April 2012.
Power comes from the same engine as the sedan: a 1.5 liter four-cylinder with 100hp and 135nm, mated to a five-speed manual or 4-speed automatic. Size: 4200/1660/1465, wheelbase is 2525. The hatchback has a much hipper interior with daring color schemes and an especially intriguing steering wheel. The hatchback will be aimed at young people living in the big cities looking for a sweet automobile.
The FAW Oley brand is strongest in second and third tier cities where price matters most and where competition from the big international brands is less fierce than in the first tier cities. The new hatchback is a fine looking car but it is unlikely to make Oley a winner in Beijing or Shanghai.
