Spy shots: Hyundai ix25 SUV seen testing in China

New spy shots of the upcoming Hyundai ix25 sub-compact SUV. The Hyundai ix25 will debut on the April 2014 Beijing Auto Show and will be launched in the first half of 2014. The Hyundai ix25 will be made in China by the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture to compete with small SUV’s such as the Ford Ecosport and the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun.

Design of the ix25 will be inspired by the 2011 Hyundai Curb concept.

The ix25 will be based on the platform of the Kia Soul, which is made in China by the Dongfeng-Yueda-Kia joint venture. The Soul is priced from 103.800 yuan to 127.800 yuan and powered by a 125hp 1.6. The Hyundai ix25 will get the same 1.6 and a new 1.4, both mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. Price will start around 110.000 yuan.
