Spy Shots: Peugeot 208 testing in China

The very first spy shots of the Peugeot 208 hatchback testing in China. The Peugeot 208 is scheduled for launch on the Chinese auto market late this year, finally succeeding the ancient Peugeot 207. The Peugeot 208 will be manufactured in China by the Dongfeng-PSA joint venture.

The current Dongfeng-PSA Peugeot 207, based on the 1998-2010 Peugeot 206. Price starts at 71.800 yuan and ends at 105.800 yuan. Engines: 1.4 and 1.6 liter four-cylinder petrol engines.

The Euro-sped Peugeot 208. Power comes from 1.0 and 1.2 liter 3-cylinder petrol engines, 1.4 and 1.6 liter 4-cylinder petrol engines, and 1.4 and 1.6 liter 4-cylinder diesel engines.

The China-made Peugeot 208 will be powered by 1.4 and 1.6 liter four-cylinder engines, mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. The Chinese market won’t get the 3-cylinders or the diesels.
