Volkswagen Santana to get Turbo Power in China

The Volkswagen Santana sedan will get a 1.4 turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine under the bonnet, the Santana 1.4T will debut in September on the Chengdu Auto Show and launch on the Chinese car market in October. The 1.4 TSI engine delivers 131hp and will be mated to a 5-speed manual or a six-speed DSG.

The Volkswagen Santana was launched in December 2012 and is currently available with a 90hp 1.4 and a 110hp 1.6, both mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. Price starts at 84.900 yuan and ends at 123.800 yuan. Price for the Santana 1.4T will start around 110.000 yuan. The Santana is manufactured in China by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture.
