Spy Shots: Wuling working on large new van
Wuling is working on a new large MPV. It will be available in seven and nine seat configurations. Power will come from a 1.5 liter four-cylinder petrol engine with 107hp. The engine will have to work hard because this is a big car: 5090mm/1780mm/1925mm, wheelbase is 3205. The new van is expected to debut on the Guangzhou Auto Show in December.
Wuling is a brand name of the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture, in which GM has a 43% stake. The other partners are SAIC (aka Shanghai Auto) and Wuling Automotive. SAIC and GM are tied up in the giant Shanghai-GM joint venture that makes Buick, Chevrolet, and Cadillac cars for the Chinese market.
