The new Dongfeng Fengxing SX6 has been launched on the Chinese car market. Price starts at 69.900 yuan and ends at 102.900 yuan. The Fengxing SX6, featuring a prominent grille with a lot of shine, is the largest car under the Fengxing brand so far, positioned above the Fengxing S500 MPV.
The SX6 is an interesting mix between an MPV and an SUV, and the result is actually quite nice; a neat looking car with a strong boxy stance, helped by the black wheel arches. Sadly, the wheels are far too small.
Two engines: a 1.6 with 117hp and 150nm, and a 2.0 with 138hp and 200nm. The 1.6 is mated to a five-speed manual or a CVT, and the 2.0 comes only with the five-speed manual. No automatic ‘box available. The 1.6 (4A9) is sourced from Mitsubishi and the 2.0 from PSA.
Size: 4650/1820/1790, and wheelbase is 2750.
The SX6 seats seven in a 2/2/3 config.
The interior is very nice and fit and finish is not bad for a Dongfeng of this size and price. Seats look nice too, a tad too flat maybe. Touch screen is large and sharp but only for the top spec versions, the cheapo’s get this.
Lever is on the large size for 2015. Cigarette lighter clearly marked.
Second row. Enough space for the legs and the heads.

Taillight design is interesting with a white-light line around the entire unit. Units are connected with a red bar. Lower bumper with more shine and fake exhaust pipe tips.
Grille is glorious. LED strips on the sides of the bumper.
