China-made Jeep Compass To Debut In November

The China-made variant of the new 2017  Jeep Compass will debut on the Guangzhou Auto Show in November and launch on the Chinese car market soon thereafter. Price will range from around 170.000 to 210.000 yuan ($25,000 – 31,000).

The Jeep Compass will be manufactured by Guangzhou-Fiat, the joint venture that also makes the Jeep Renegade, the Jeep Cherokee, the Fiat Ottimo, and the Fiat Viaggio.

The Compass stands on a enlarged variant of the FCA Small-Wide 4×4 platform that also underpins the Jeep Renegade, the Fiat 500X and the Fiat 500L.

There will be two four-cylinder petrol engines available: a 1.4 turbo with 165hp and 250nm, and a 2.4 with 175hp and 230nm. The 1.4 turbo will be mated to a nine-speed automatic. The 2.4 will be mated toa six-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT.

Trim levels: Sport, Longitude, and Limited.
