Jeep has released two teasers for a new concept car that will debut on the Shanghai Auto Show in China. Jeep says it is a “new energy vehicle” (NEV), a Chinese classification that includes EVs and PHEVs. The concept seems about the size of the Grand Cherokee with a steeply angled windscreen, ultra wide wheel arches, and an all-new D-pillar design.

The concept keeps the typical Jeep grille.

Earlier on Jeep has stated that it will launch a hybrid versions of the next-gen Grand Cherokee and Wrangler. The car on the teasers if obviously not a Wrangler so we are probably looking at a design-preview of the new Grand Cherokee. It is also possible that Jeep is working on a dedicated NEV platform, which would make a lot of sense for the NEV hungry Chinese market.
