This is the very first photo of the successor of the BYD Tang SUV. The vehicle was seen in a design studio and is likely just a model. But is looks good, with sharp shapes all along and a very distinctive grille. The new Tang isn’t expected before late 2018 but we might see a first concept near the end of this year.
This is the current Tang, fitted with impressive tech but never a beauty. The car on the photo is the latest model, the Tang 100, an ultra speedy hybrid with a total output of 505hp and 820nm, good for a 0-100 in just 4.9 seconds. The new Tang will have even more horsepower and a longer electric-only range, which currently stands on 100 kilometers, hence the name.
