This is the new Changan Raeton CC, a somewhat sporty looking sedan coupe with a massive grille and a very short rear end. The name is misleading for one might think that it is based on the Raeton sedan. It isn’t, it stands on a smaller platform and used a different engine. It has also no visible connections with the 2015 Raeton CC concept car.
The Raeton CC will in fact be positioned below the Raeton (pictured). The latter starts at 108.800 yuan and ends at 170.800 yuan. For that cash you get a lot of car: 4920/1825/1500, wheelbase is 2800. Engines: 158hp 2.0 and a 177hp 1.8 turbo.
The Raeton CC is 14 centimeters shorter: 4780/1825/1465, and wheelbase is 2770. At launch there will be just one engine available, a 1.5 turbo with 156hp, mated to a six-speed manual or automatic, sending horses to the front wheels.
Spoiler integrated in the boot lid. Reaton CC badge is ultra cool because it follows the angle of the light and because CC is in red. We strongly support red badges on turbocharged cars. Price of the CC will start around 95.000 yuan and end around 120.000 yuan.
Price and engine are fine and it looks good. But is it really a sedan coupe? No, and it sure isn’t a Raeton sedan coupe. What is really is is a completely new sedan positioned between the Eado and the Raeton. They should have given it a new name too. Raeton CC is just confusing.
