Just three days after its launch, the 2023 BYD Qin Plus DM-i Champion Edition has received about 15,872 orders (as of press time). BYD officially launched the 2023 Qin Plus DM-i Champion Edition in China on February 11. Available in five trims, it has a price range of 99,800 – 145,800 RMB ($14,600 – $21,400).
A major selling point of the 2023 BYD Qin Plus DM-i is its price. This is the first time the price of a DM-i model costs less than 100,000 RMB. According to BYD, the car aimed to achieve “same price for oil and electricity.”
The 2023 Qin Plus DM-i offers two NEDC cruising ranges of 55 km and 120 km. DM-i is a hybrid system BYD developed for its PHEVs, focused on ultra-low fuel consumption. It stands for Dual Motor – Intelligent.
Many leading automakers in China, including Tesla, have reduced the price of their vehicles or introduced entry-level models in a bid to win over customers. BYD’s latest model is proving to be a success so far, as the automaker has seen a large turnout of prospective buyers in its stores nationwide.
In response, BYD has stated that its production lines can handle orders. The automaker has also urged customers to place orders with confidence.
