This is the new Trumpchi GS3. Its Chinese name is ‘GS3·影速’ (GS3·Yingsu), which translates to ‘Shadow Speed’. Pre-sale starts at 88,000 – 112,000 RMB (12,800 – 16,300 USD). Trumpchi is a brand under the GAC Group.
The new Trumpchi GS3 stands on the GPMA platform. As a compact SUV, the size of the car is 4410 (4446)/1850/1600 mm, with a 2650 mm wheelbase, which is 90 mm longer than that of the current model. The car runs on densely-spoked black wheels and features hidden door handles. The car is available in five body colors: metallic grey, blue, white, silver, and regular grey.
In the front, the three-dimensional effect polygonal grille is connected with the sharp headlights on both sides.
In addition to the standard version, the new Trumpchi GS3 will also offer the ‘R’ version, which is sportier with orange trim, aggressive exhaust pipes, and rear diffuser.
The interior adopts a dual 12.3-inch screen design for the instrument panel and central control screen, a D-shaped steering wheel, and a small monostable gear selector. In terms of safety, the new Trumpchi GS3 will be equipped with ten level 2 driving assistance functions including active braking, lane departure assistance, speed limit sign recognition, and avoidance.
Wireless charging is available on the center console, with a maximum power of 50W.
The seats are decorated with a hint of dark blue.
The GS3 will be equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine for 177 hp and 270 Nm. This ICE will work in pair with the 7DCT transmission. Its acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is 7.5 seconds and fuel consumption is 6.8L/100km.
