BYD Song L was spotted on the eve of the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show. The new car may be positioned as a mid-size pure electric SUV that sits on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0. It may also be equipped with some of BYD’s advanced technologies including Cell to Body (CTB) battery cell integration and battery temperature control.
Earlier on April 14, BYD officially released the teaser image of the Song L SUV. In 2022, BYD sold a total of 1,868,543 vehicles. In particular, BYD’s Song SUV series consisting of Song PLUS New Energy and Song Pro New Energy sold a staggering total of 478,811 units alone.
Judging from the naming method, the body size of Song L is likely to be between Song PLUS EV and Tang EV. For reference, the size of the Song PLUS EV is 4705/1890/1680mm, with a 2765mm wheelbase; the size of the Tang EV is 4900/1950/1725mm, with a 2820mm wheelbase.
BYD Song L will officially unveil at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show, which opens on April 18. More product information will be revealed at that time.
