Recently, Jetour Traveller, a four-wheel drive off-road style SUV, was seen on Chinese streets. It is expected to launch later this month in July. Just like its name, the Traveller targets consumers who travel in light/normal off-road conditions; hence, this car is not suitable for driving under extreme road conditions.

Overall, the Traveller is boxy with big bumpers, wide arches, sidebars, and roof racks. In the front, the headlights are square on both sides and the honeycomb grille is blackened. The Jetour letter logo is displayed across the front grille, making it highly recognizable.

The Traveller will be available with ICE and PHEV powertrains. There will be two ICE options: a 1.6T+7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and a 2.0T+8-speed automatic gearbox. The 2.0T engine has a maximum power of 187 kW and a peak torque of 390 Nm. The PHEV version will use a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and an electric motor. Jetour claims that the PHEV version will be able to achieve more than a 1,000 km comprehensive cruising range. All versions get four-wheel drive.

The rear design is typical for an off-road SUV with a large spare wheel cover and a wide high-mounted brake light. The taillight adopts a vertical layout and uses LED lights. A tow hook is also present.

The rear door is hinged on the left side.

Furthermore, the interior has a large floating central control screen, a full LCD instrument panel, and an oval-shaped flat-bottom three-spoke steering wheel. There is a gear selector, a drive-mode selector, and wireless charging pads on the center console. The computing platform will be supported by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. Jetour Traveller will provide 5-seater and 7-seater versions. The length of the 5-seater version is about 4.8 m, and the length of the 7-seater version is about 4.95 m. Jetour has not yet disclosed the exact dimensions.

  1. Actually a very good looking SUV, beats many established brands in terms of looks, hopefully the quality is ok too.

  2. Another defender/bronco copy . It’s getting embarrassing honestly. What a lack of imagination. I guess Design is just ticking the box, and don’t give a damn. What a sad company.

    • Chery surly is lacking in that regard. Their Arrizo sedan is also too obvious a mishmash of designs, and that dated approach is affecting their sales.

    • you sounds like had too much lemon in your backyard or wat? I’m seeing it a better version or improvement of a defender from the look of it, and what is wrong with that? who made the rule if one had an idea then another cannot make a better version and reasonable price as improvement? As a consumer I get benefit from a good looking product with a good price, and I don’t give it a sh*t abt who’s the first of blablabla, the logical world improves based on ideas and I care only which one is better in its value, you can’t live with one stereotyped forever coz thats not how the world works and blame those came afterwards as copycat coz they are better
