A few days ago, the upcoming Tank 300 PHEV was seen on a Chinese street, implying that it will be launched soon. Previously, the Tank 300 PHEV was declared by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), continuing the styling design of the current Tank 300 ICE version.

Although only the side and rear are exposed, it can be seen that the “PHEV” logo has been added under the ‘Tank 300’ print along with the “Great Wall Tank Off-Road” (“长城坦克越野”) print on the top. According to the declaration information, the new car will provide an urban version and an off-road version. The difference in appearance is reflected in the details such as the blackened front grille, door handles, wheel eyebrows, luggage rack, and exterior rearview mirrors. And of course, the rear spare wheel is not absent. In addition, the Tank 300 will run on a brand-new two-color aluminum alloy rim.

The size of the car measures 4760/1930/1903mm, with a 2750mm wheelbase.

The Tank 300 PHEV will be equipped with a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 2.0T gasoline engine and an electric motor, mated to a 9AT. The 2.0T engine model is “E20NA”, which is the same as the Tank 500 Hi4-T, with a declared maximum power of 185 kW, stronger than the 2.0T engine (167 kW) of the current Tank 300 ICE on the market. In addition, the battery system will come with a ternary lithium battery pack with a capacity of 37.11 kWh, giving the car a pure electric cruising range of 105 km and a fuel consumption of 9.5L/100km.

As of now, the interior of the Tank 300 PHEV has not been revealed; however, it should be mostly consistent with the current ICE version’s interior, as shown above. Inside is covered with a large area of leather material and turbine-shaped air-conditioning outlets. Furthermore, configurations such as level 2+ advanced driving assistance functions and the new generation of the All-Terrain System (ATS) will not be absent.

Finally, in terms of cost, for reference, the price range of the current Tank 300 2.0T model on the market is 198,800 – 233,000 yuan (27,500 – 32,200 USD). How much do you think is an appropriate price tag for the PHEV version?
