The Baojun Cloud (Chinese name is 云朵, Yunduo) is a small hatchback from the SAIC-GM-Wuling JV that aims to compete with the BYD Dolphin. It has already hit the blind orders and got heady for the market launch on August 10. And now its configuration list was revealed. Let’s get to know the Cloud’s trim levels better.

Baojun Cloud’s trim levels basic information

The Baojun Cloud has four trim levels. All of them can be finished in three exterior colors: Purple, White and Silver. Every trim level also has the same dimensions (4295/1850/1652 mm) and 5 seats inside. The powertrain of the Cloud is also similar for all the trim levels. It has a 100-kW electric motor on the front axle. The suspension system of Cloud is also the same for all configurations. It is represented by MacPherson on the front axle and a torsion beam on the rear one. Now, let’s talk about differences.

The Cloud has four trim levels called 360 Plus, 360 Pro, 460 Pro and 460 Max, respectively. The number in each name represents the range of the Cloud. So, you can easily tell that the first two trim levels are equipped with a smaller battery. It is LFP for 37.9 kWh. The DC-charger can fill this battery from 30% to 80% in 35 minutes. It means that the Cloud with this battery can be charged with 40 kW DC max. As for the bigger battery pack, it is also LFP for 50.6 kWh. It charges from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes. So, it can take up to 52 kW DC. Moreover, the bigger battery of the Cloud supports V2L function.

More about trim levels

The entry level Baojun Cloud 360 Plus already has 215/60 R17 wheels, voice interaction system, online navigation, in-car Bluetooth, in-car 4G connection, AutoHold, two airbags, 6 speakers, rear-view camera and LED lights. It also has a 10.1-inch main screen inside, cruise control, and manually adjustable front seats. Moreover, it has a black interior with leatherette. The Cloud 360 Pro has a bigger 15.6-icnh screen, power front seats adjustments, 360-degree camera, automatic high beams, and side airbags in the first row of seats. Moreover, the interior of this version can be finished in green or black shade with signature cloud seats.

The Cloud 460 Pro has bigger 215/55 R18 wheels. Aside from rims, it stays in line with the 360 Pro version. As for the 460 Max, it is equipped with armrest for the second row passengers, 256-color ambient lighting, wireless phone charging pad, power tailgate and curtain airbags.

So, the Baojun Cloud looks like a nice car. If it starts from 100,000 yuan (13,900 USD), it will be 16,800  yuan (2,340 USD) cheaper than the BYD Dolphin. On the other hand, the entry level Dolphin has a bigger battery. Moreover, BYD has brand power in China. So, it will be difficult for Cloud to rival the Dolphin.
