GM-SAIC-Wuling JV’s Baojun Cloud EV launched in China, price starts at 13,200 USD

Today, August 10, GM-SAIC-Wuling’s joint venture (SGMW) officially launched its new Baojun Cloud (云朵) five-seater electric hatchback, offering two pure electric cruising ranges of 360 km and 460 km. A total of four models were launched with a price range of 95,800 – 123,800 yuan (13,200 – 17,100 USD), namely, 360 Plus, 360 Pro, 460 Pro, and 460 Max.

Three exterior colors are offered, namely, white, purple, and green.

The car measures 4295/1850/1652mm, with a 2700mm wheelbase. All models are equipped with a motor that outputs 100 kW and 200 Nm. Baojun Cloud has two pure electric cruising ranges of 360 km and 460 km, provided by 37.9 kWh and 50.6 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery packs, respectively. Each cruising range offers two models for consumers to choose from.

Both slow and fast chargings are supported. With fast charging, Baojun Cloud can achieve 30% – 80% battery life within 30 minutes of charging.

In terms of appearance, Baojun Yunduo adopts a stacked design, similar to the clouds we see in the sky. Notable design elements include the suspended roof and the popular hidden door handles. The 2㎡ sunroof brings in lots of natural light. At the rear, the ducktail spoiler on the upper part adds an additional sense of a sporty vibe. The car runs on 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels.

Coming to the cockpit, it has a dual-color interior that is equipped with an 8.8-inch rectangular LCD instrument panel and a 15.6-inch floating central control screen. Baojun Cloud is also the first model equipped with the LingOS 2.0 system. Other standard configurations include voice recognition/interaction, remote control through an app, adaptive cruise control, and a 6-speaker audio system. The high-end trims provide advanced configurations including 256-color ambient lights, wireless charging, and an electric tailgate.

Furthermore, the high-end trims adopt the “cloud sofa” seat design, and the rear seats can be adjusted at an angle of 135 degrees to turn into a ‘cloud bed’, according to the carmaker. There are 18 storage spaces throughout the car. The official trunk space is 382 liters and can reach up to 1707 liters after folding down the rear seats.
