The new version of Huawei and Seres developed Aito M7 SUV received over 80,000 orders since the model entered the market on September 12. At the beginning of the last month, the manufacturer revealed the refreshed model saw over 40,000 orders.
Over 80% of the orders opted for a 5-seat version, while 19% chose a 6-seat version. The model comes in five versions.
Last month, Aito cut promo campaign perks by 3,000 yuan (410 USD) that were offered as part of the market entry campaign. All three items are worth 15,000 yuan (2,000 USD) each. The campaign will end at the end of the month.
The SUV branded by Li Auto CEO as its biggest rival was initially launched in July 2022. The facelift is 70,000 yuan (9,500 USD) cheaper than the original version and is offered for 249,800-329,800 yuan (34,100-45,000 USD). The model is the second Aito’s model after M5.
The five-seater model has a 686 L standard trunk volume, which can be increased to 1619 L, enough to accommodate thirty 20-inch suitcases. The full-size SUV range extender has more than 27 sensors, enabling Huawei’s ADS 2.0 functions, such as parking assist, lane change, collision avoidance, and automatic emergency braking.
The power continues to come from a 1.5T range-extender hybrid system and Huawei-made electric motor. The 2-wheel-drive version with a single electric motor on the rear axle outputs 200 kW and 360 Nm, and the two motors in the 4-wheel-drive version deliver 330 kW and 660 Nm. The 40 kWh ternary battery pack by CATL enables two electric mode ranges – 210 km and 240 km (CLTC). The combined range is 1,300 km.
