For BYD, this is another all-time high month; however, the MoM growth is very slight, only 0.27%. Year-to-date (January – November), BYD sold 2,683,374 vehicles, which means the Shenzhen-based company needs to deliver about 320,000 units in December to fulfill its 3 million target.

The current ratio of BYD deliveries is 43.47% for PHEVs and 56.36% for BEVs. BYD ceased production of ICE vehicles in April last year. BEV sales made 52.5% of total BYD sales in September and 54.9 in October.

The sales breakdown of the key Ocean series models:

  • Seagull: 44,603 (2.89% up MoM)
  • Dolphin: 35,246
  • Seal (BEV+PHEV): 19,860

BYD also exported 30,629 vehicles to global markets, up 148.65% compared with the previous year and nearly the same as the previous month. The main export product is crossover Yuan Plus, also known as Atto 3.

Today, BYD also announced massive promotions in its end-of-year sales push, with some already discounted models being discounted again. For example, the BYD Han EV got a 20,000 yuan (2,800 USD) haircut. All discounts are only valid for cars purchased between December 1 and 31, making it obvious what BYD’s agenda is here.

Qin DM-i (Dual Motor), Qin EV, Han DM-i, and DM-p PHEVs prices were cut by 10,000 yuan (1,400 USD).

Tang DM-i SUV was discounted by 15,000 yuan (2,100 USD), while its BEV variant, Tang EV, got 10,000 yuan off. Yuan Plus (Atto 3) got a discount of 3,000 yuan (420 USD).
