Changan CD701 Concept Car

Earlier in September 2023, Changan unveiled the CD701 concept car as an integrated SUV and pickup vehicle, based on Changan’s SDA smart electric platform, with a 5-seater layout. The vehicle can realize dual-mode switching between an SUV and a pickup by opening the rear dome to transform into a pickup truck. Both the front and rear featured a digital screen that displayed information such as the vehicle name and battery information. Changan also shared that the vehicle will support low-orbit satellite communication to be able to connect to the Internet at any time, and never lose contact.

Qiyuan E07

The Qiyuan E07 has a pickup truck body posture with a relatively downward slope of the roof line and thick roof racks. The appearance is similar to the CD701 concept car. The front face features a closed grille paired with a C-shaped LED headlight set. The taillight adopts a ring shape in the rear. The Qiyuan E07 measures 5045/1996/1640 (1665, 1695) mm, with a 3120 mm wheelbase, positioned as a medium-to-large SUV. It can seat five people as the standard and runs on 20-inch or 21-inch rims.

The Qiyuan E07 will be available in single and dual-motor versions, equipped with ternary lithium battery packs. The maximum power of the single motor is 252 kW and has a 201 km/h top speed. The maximum power of the dual front and rear motors is 188 kW and 252 kW, respectively. The top speed is 210 km/h. Additional battery specifications have not been revealed at this time.

In addition, the new car will be equipped with lidars and cameras, based on the declaration information. The car will likely be equipped with advanced driving assistance capabilities.

Will the Qiyuan E07 mass-produced version share the same configurations as the CD701 concept car? We’ll watch closely for more information.

  1. “…positioned as a pure electric SUV”
I’m hard pressed to see an SUV here. Look at that C pillar angle.
Yes, we need some more photos of “the back” in order to better judge.

  2. Please disregard my comment above.
I now see the photo showing the pickup-tyoe tailgate. It sure is a weird amalgamation.
Perhaps the designer was trying his best to make both wife and hubby happy. Who knows maybe its uniqueness will catch on.
