After about a month of beta testing, we officially launched the Spanish mutation of CNC. The editor-in-chief is a friend of CarNewsChina, Alejandro Pérez, who also runs an influential YouTube channel about Chinese EVs in Spanish.

When Alejandro contacted me back in December by email with the subject: “Why not in Spanish?” I realized how amazing our fans and readers are at CarNewsChina, and I would like to take the wheel to express my gratitude to everyone who has fueled our electrifying journey.

For the CNC team, your support has been the charger propelling us forward on this road of demystifying China’s auto market, which used to be a black box for many just a few years back. Thank you.

CarNewsChina has grown a lot in the last two years. Our hard-core readers, who have been with us since 2010 and remember our articles about China’s copycat cars and the fun we had with them, were joined by many new fans interested in new electric vehicles, which flooded China. At one point a few years back, we had a headline: “Another day, another brand in China” daily, sometimes even twice. Now, the situation is different as consolidation is coming, and only a couple of the strongest players will stay out of hundreds of China’s EV makers.

This brings me to question if there are some topics you miss at CNC, what you like, do not like, and what you would want to see more or less. Any feedback is appreciated; let me know (email at the end). In traditional media, the stream is usually in one direction: the magazine writes the story, and you consume it. Still, we never thought about CNC like this – our community is important to us. Your passion, curiosity, and love for all things automotive and innovation continue to inspire us, as those are values we share.

For 2024, we also have many things in our pipeline for you. Stay tuned; I’m sure you will love it. Moreover, if you would like to join Alejandro or are thinking about starting a CNC version in your language, let me know, and we can talk, as we would love to support anyone passionate about China’s auto market who would like to un-black box the Middle Kingdom automotive.
