Fang Cheng Bao (FCB) is a high-end off-road NEV brand from BYD positioned between Denza and YangWang domestically. Its model line currently comprises a single model called Bao 5 / Leopard 5 (see specs). Soon, the brand’s line will add up two more SUVs: Bao 8 and Bao 3. The battery and range specs of the latter car were revealed by the Chinese regulator. The Bao 3 can enter Europe under the Denza brand.

The FCB Bao 3 has a single battery option. It is a 78.72 kWh lithium iron-phosphate (LFP) Blade battery from BYD subsidiary FinDreams. The chemistry of this pack makes it heavy at 560 kg. For comparison, Nio’s semi-solid state battery pack weighs only 15 kg more.  Bearing in mind the curb weight of the FCB Bao 3 off-roader reaches 2150 kg, the battery pack takes up 25% of the car weight.
