2025 model year BYD Han DM-i arrived at dealers

The new 2025 model year BYD Han DM-i plug-in hybrid sedan arrived at dealers in China before the sales start. Its exterior styling changed drastically, as the new model adopted the exterior styling of the Han EV sedan (see specs). It will enter China this year.

Previously, the BYD Han family comprised two seemingly different models: EV and PHEV (DM-i & DM-p). The all-electric Han EV had a closed front end and thin headlights joined with a chrome-plated element. On the other hand, the PHEV variant had a huge radiator grille, trapeze-shaped headlights, and a different front bumper.

It seems that customers prefer the exterior styling of the Han EV as it is more popular than its DM-i sibling. This is probably the main reason for adjusting the Han DM-i’s look. Previously, the Chinese governmental regulator disclosed that BYD Song Pro DM-i will also adopt the design language of EV models. So, it seems that BYD will soon adjust the exterior design of every PHEV in the Dynasty series.

More on the new 2025 BYD Han DM-i

The new 2025 model year BYD Han DM-i arrived at dealers and was finished in gray body color. It has a sleek body with a sloped bonnet line and smooth roofline. Other features of the Han DM-i are retractable door handles and black trim instead of chrome. The front end of the Han DM-i has a mm-wave radar. From the back, it has a single taillight unit and the “Build Your Dreams” inscription.

Previously, the BYD Han DM-i was spotted during road tests with a LiDAR sensor on the roof. However, the model spotted at the dealer doesn’t have one. This means the LiDAR sensor will be available as an option in the future.

The BYD Han DM-i boasts hefty dimensions of 4995/1910/1495 mm with a wheelbase of 2920 mm. The interior of the Han DM-i also stays in line with the EV model. The powertrain of the Han DM-i comprises a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol-powered ICE for 115 kW (154 hp) paired with a 200 kW (268 hp) e-motor. The 18.3 kWh LFP battery from FinDreams powers the system. The electric range of the Han DM-i is 102 km.

The 2025 BYD Han DM-i will enter the market this year. Its price tag has yet to be revealed.
